Dasher

This is how the card looks closed
this is your first peek when you flip the first flap
and this is what's inside! (sorry i should have taken these pix w/ a lighter background but hope you can get the idea!) The picture of my girls is just tacked in there so the recipient can pull out and display w/ the rest of the xmas pix if they wish to do so!

For this card my base was 4 1/4" X 11. Then i scored each end @ 3 1/2". From there the sky is the limit for how you embellish! I like to try to stay to standard size for postage cost when it comes time to MAIL all those suckers! ;) So approx 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" will fit into your standard envelope.

supplies:
paper: choc chip, rich razzleberry, whisper white
inkL rich razzleberry, choc chip
stamps: dasher (only $8.95), teeny tiny wishes, God's blessings
tools: scallop punch, slot punch(to tie ribbon through)
accessories: polka dot ribbon in rich razzleberry, brad, 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds(for Dasher's antlers)

Please let me know if you have any ?'s!

Playing around w/ Christmas ideas!

i was challenging myself to come up w/ something 'different' for Christmas and this is what i came up with today!
Start w/ normal size card 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
Score one end @ 1 3/4" and flip and score the other end @ 3 1/8"
Picture inside is 3 1/4" X 4 1/2" and matted that on a piece just slightly larger 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
I like to add a tab to the pix and just 'tack' it in there so they can pull it out and display w/ the other xmas pix!
On the outside i just wrapped a basic black belly band around it and tied basic gray ribbon around that! So to open the card they slide that off.

supplies:
paper: crushed curry, basic black, old olive
ink: old olive, basic black
tools: crop a dile(to punch holes for brad), stamp a ma jig(for stamping the ornaments on front and making sure your words are straight on the inside), 2 way glue pen
accessories: basic gray ribbon, dazzling diamonds(on ornaments to make the sparkle!)

Happy Stamping! Melissa

Eight Great Greetings

Back to my circles here! Put this together for a little baby boy that was born using punches, circle scissor plus and the large circle of the Circles Scallop #2 for the chocolate one. supplies:
paper: certainly celery, choc chip, whisper white, bashful blue dsp
ink: choc chip
stamps: Eight great greetins
tools: circle punches, circle scallops #2 die, big shot, texture plates, crop a dile(punched holes for brads and you can set the depth so each on is punched EXACTLY the same!)
accessories: brads, stampin dimensionals, sponges(for inking edges of paper)

Perfect Princess

So my kind cousin lent me this set to play around with and i came up with this darling invite... thinking ahead a bit for my girl's b-days! ;) Very simple to do:
Start w/ sheet 5 1/2" X11" and then score from each end 3 1/4" for your fold. Then cut a corner off each side so you make the 'V'! tip:I cut one side and then trace it on the other side so they are the same! To make sure it all stays together snug, i used sticky strip and put it WAY on the bottom edge.
Then for your inside piece(invite), my base of soft suede was 4 1/4" X 5" and then you can layer up from there according to how you like it!
This size fits right into the standard envelope snuggly but it works!
The belly band i made was just a 11"x 2.5" strip that i scallop punches and then wrapped it around, add a layer of soft suede to tie it all together.
On the invite part i stamped the crown in soft suede and then lined w/ my 2 way glue pen and dumped on the glitter for my 'wow' factor! I also added to the word 'princess' on the front~

supplies~
paper: cameo coral, soft suede, whisper white
ink: soft suede, cameo coral
stamps:Perfect Princess, Really retro(for the 'you're invited')
tools:wide oval, scallop oval punches, scallop edge punch, 2 way glue pen, blender pen(to color part of the crown), sponge(for inking the edge in soft suede)
accessories: dazzling diamonds, stampin dimensionals(300 in a pack for only $3.95)

Don't forget to personalize!! These cool stamps can be found on p.136-137 in the big caty!

Limited supply challenge

Limited Supply challenge 238 this week is to make card in Halloween colors. It doesn't have to be a Halloween themed card, just use any combo of orange, purples, yellows, blacks, greens and browns (or any other spooky color combo you can think of).

No more than a total of 4 embellishments (brads, ribbons and such). Die cuts do not count as an embellishment.

I don't even own one stamp set w/ a Halloween theme or pumpkins so this is my twist to it!

Supplies~
paper: dusty durango, elegant eggplant, basic black, very vanilla
ink: basic black, dusty durango
stamps: medallion, Holiday Best(level 1 Hostess)
tools: big shot, texture plates, 1 3/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch
accessories: brads, stampin dimensionals

that's pretty 'limited' isn't it!? ;)

my Fuzzy 'Dasher'!

Hi guys... well last night i had some fun making my little dasher here fuzzy! Can you see it in the picture(if u click on the picture to enlarge you can see it much better!)I stamped him in Rose Red Craft ink(this is much wetter and gooier than the classic ink and allows for the embossing powders to adhere to it), then used the heat and stick powder along w/ the heat gun and when it was nice and sticky i put his fur on! When i had the pile on top of him i pressed it all down w/ my finger tip and dumped off the excess! I think it makes him very lovable! The snow he is standing in was done w/ the 2way glue pen and dazzling diamonds. Merry Christmas was stamped in Rose Red craft ink, then dump on the clear embossing powder and set w/ your heat gun! Very classy! Punch it out w/ the large oval punch and pop it up w/ a stampin dimensional(so it presses snug against the hardware) and hug it w/ the hodge podge hardware! Last but not least.. i really think his nose needs a tiny red bead on the tip but since i didn't have any... silver will have to do for today!

Supplies:
paper: Rose Red, River Rock, Whisper white
ink: versamark, rose red(craft)
stamps: Dasher(only $8.95!!), Holiday Best(Level 1 hostess set) you could earn this set for FREE! Paisley background stamp(retired)
tools: Matte pack(for piercing the frame around Dasher), crop a dile to punch my holes for the brads, 2 way glue pen
accessories: Dazzling diamonds, clear embossing powder, 1 silver bead, Hodge podge hardware, stampin dimensionals, and the 'fuzzy fur" for Dasher ( i bought this 4 yrs. ago on a garage sale and i FINALLY used it!)

Eight Great Greetings

Made this for my little gift tag to add to the gift bag for the little girl of my cousins! Scallop Circles die assisted me it getting this done! Both of the scallop circles are from that die #2. Then the leaf is also an addition from the big shot. (Sizzlits little leaves) My tip for the congrats... if you don't have a very steady hand w/ snipping... I stamped it on whisper white, then punched it out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and then the center of the circle w/ the 1/2" circle punch.. then all you have to do is make two straight snips on the straight part of the 'C'!

supplies:
paper: melon mambo, whisper white, so saffron dsp, razzleberry lemonade dsp (for the leaves)
ink: melon mambo
stamps: eight great greetings
tools: big shot, sizzlits little leaves, scallop circles #2 die, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, texture plates (for the raised polka dots)
accessories: stampin dimensionals (to raise the small scallop circle up)

Wedding card for my cousins!

I put this card together last weekend for my cousin who we went to see get married in Traverse City MI. The simple elegance that this stamps gives simply amazes me every time! I added a little heat embossing on the center and then raised it up w/ dimensionals.

paper: soft suede, whisper white, choc chip
ink: soft suede
stamps: medallion, teeny tiny wishes
tools: 1 3/4" circle punch, heat tool
accessories: soft suede ribbon, clear embossing powder, pearl from pretties kit, stampin dimensionals

below are a few pix to share from our fun weekend away!
Here is the Mackinac bridge in the background and we are riding the ferry to the island
Did a bit of hiking on our 8 mile bike ride to stretch the muscles. Great view from the top!

Playing in Lake MI to cool off! Check out how crystal clear that water is!!!
on the road again... the 8 miles takes u around the entire island along the shores like this! You can see Ms. Hannah on her tag along bike w/ Jesse. She made it 7 miles just great... no complaining at all ...then(we think) she fell asleep and fell off her bike and got quite banged up! Poor thing, bad road rash but she was able to get back on and finish the trek!

Tree trimmings

This was a card/envelope combo we made at convention using the cute stamp set Tree trimmings! Very simple and quick to put together! You'll have to excuse my 'short' string for my ornament on my envelope! I wasn't watching where i was stamping and forgot to hand draw the line to finish it! oops! (but then again that's right where my return address would go so you would never know if i sent it in the mail bc i would be dangling from that, huh?!)
