our sailor

does it seem like all i scrap is mr. chase? well thaz bc i'm working real hard on his first yr(that's what i did w/ girl too), so no worries, i don't favor him;) Take note of the jumbo eyelets i used above. if you want them to look realistic, fill a circle punch w/ the bottom paper and then layer that right behind the eyelet. looks like it's punched throught then instead of just 'laying' on top of the paper! the circle design behind the pix is a stamp from the set circle circus(bought as an addon) and then i changed the color to very vanilla and then changed the opacity to make it lighter. any ?'s please let me know!!

a word for you

@ our church when it's our turn to greet, we are asked to send a note of encouragement to a missionary that our church supports. Well, i've ALWAYS wanted to stamp them a cute card when it's my turn and jus never get it done. this time i did. i hope it brings a smile to their face in their third world country and that they can sense my admiration for what they do.

This is a rather large card as we receive an addressed envelope and it's business size. so i made it fit just right!

for the first time EVA i sewed on my card what do you think eh? nifty! i don't actually own that beautiful punch 'lace ribbon border'.... but, when i went to convention we got to use it on the projects we made so punched up my scraps!! took them home and now had the perfect spot to use it!
the flower above was made using the flower folds die in the big shot. after i cut that i ran each layer through the crimper 2X to break down the paper fibers so it crumples 'super' nice. the paper is so much softer when u are done doing that. can you tell what the center of that flower is??? I actually took a small strip of the timeless portrait designer fabric and twisted it into a tight circle thingy! used sticky strip underneath to hold it awesomely snug. then laid a string off of my pearl sheet right around the edges of the fabric.

supplies:
paper: soft suede textured, naturals ivory, lucky limeade, cherry cobbler, island indigo
ink: island indigo, cherry cobbler (markers)
stamps: a word for you
tools: big shot, flower fold die, lace ribbon punch, crop a dile, sewing machine
tools: soho designer hardware(retired), pearls, timeless portrait fabric, sticky strip

raining flowers

i like to have these kind of cards on hand for when you hear of someone who needs a smile on their face or have maybe lost a loved one. i think the soft colors and different textures on this card make it pop.  That nifty little oval ripped piece is a NEW impression folder out of the big caty. it's super cool and you get TWO different shapes! they are awesome!!! after using the folder i just ripped the excess paper off around the edges, used my wide oval punch to add some dsp to the center(some pretty flowers from paisley petals) and then sponged the edges. i used my paper snips to cut out my stem/flower and on the bottom added some sticky strip and ribbon!

supplies:
paper: baja breeze, urban oasis dsp(retired) paisley petals dsp, crumb cake, naturals ivory
ink: always artichoke, crumb cake
stamps: raining flowers, teeny tiny wishes
tools: big shot, impression folder, wide oval punch, small oval punch
accessories: baja breeze seam binding ribbon, stampin dimensionals

since we recently moved onto a new street i was no longer included in my old block party!! ;( well that only means one thing right??? We have to start a new one. Well if i kept up w/ the Jones's i was really gonna have to be on the ball...and i wasn't...so i kept it super simple and we had an icecream party! Exactly what my girls LOVE!! it was a hit. we all had fun, met new people and i think i could almost greet every person on my street by first name now. my goal.

ink: pool party
stamps: really retro(retired), whimsy jumbo wheel

it's a 2~fer

This bright piece was one of the cards we made @ camp last week.  It was simple but i think it packs some punch! you?  Using that fun new stamp set Pennant Parade and then of course the punch that goes w/ it we could make these cute party hats in a snap! We popped the punched out star up on a dimensional, stamped 'wish big' on a scrap piece and just used our paper snips to make a cute little flag. TIP: if you have a square punch, they work great for this. just slide in your end that you want 'flagged' to a corner of the square punch and wa'la'. it's perfect!

supplies:
paper: pear pizzaz, whisper white, concord crush, poppy parade dsp
ink: poppy parade, pear pizzaz, concord crush
stamps: pennant parade (clear mount)
tools: big shot, perfect polka dots impression folder, 1 3/4" circle punch, petite pennants builder punch, 1/2" circle punch, matte pack
accessories: poppy parade ribbon, silver brad
and this is the other! we made 2 of each for a total of 6 cards to take home! I liked the simplicity of this card and the soft colors we used as well. This is using the beautiful set Strength & Hope (that is only available till August 31!) it's in the Occasions mini right now and for every set sold, SU! donates $2 to the BCRF(Breast Cancer Research Foundation)  I love the butterfly and the words are my fav.... i have the clear mount set(ONLY $13.95!!!) and that made it very easy to nicely line up these butterflies! no stamp a ma jig needed;) I tore the one edge and then just roughed it up w/ my finger nails a bit.

supplies:
paper: wisteria wonder, naturals ivory, blushing bride
ink: wisteria wonder, blushing bride, crumb cake
stamps: strength & hope (CLICK HERE for more inspiration and a little snipet from Shelli!)
tools: dotted scallop ribbon brdr pnch
accessories: crumb cake seam binding ribbon(nice to 'crinkle'), pearl

MDS minneapolis

The above layout, done in MDS is a great example of how you can use an entire picture as your background. this is a 12x12 layout and i just used that in place of any paper on the page! Just make sure the pix you use is taken @ a high resolution so it doesn't pixelate when you print.
layout of a fabulous hotel that we went to in Otsego MN last feb. it was our 'southern gettaway' for those of us w/ small kidos who didn't go south! ;) Holiday Inn w/ a wonderful water park. we ALL had a ball! ;)

3X3 in a cute package!

how cute are these? I made some 3x3 cards with matching envelopes.... out of some matching dsp! Everthing matches perfectly...BEST thing about SU!... don't have to stress about your colors!!   put them in a cute little cello bag and topped it off w/ a top note die cut from the big shot and we have a finished gift for someone special!

and she's 21!!!!

Our cousin Tessa turned 21 last week and her mom threw her a SURPRISE cake bash @ their house. so much fun! our girls got the biggest kick out of the surprise and didn't quite 'get it' that you had to be QUIET!!!....until the birthday girl was in the house! oh well, their giggles added to the fun;)
i used the fun new in color Pool Party for the main color on this card. Made my own dsp by stamping the flourish randomly and then distressed it ...first ran it through the crimper two times to break down the paper fibers and then crumpled it in a ball and ripped up the edges a bit and one corner off.

the gathered cream ribbon is from one of the retired packs off the clearance rack. and don't miss those pretty rhinestones. i cut a piece of the strip off and added that to my xtra large decor punch.

supplies:
paper: early espresso, very vanilla, pool party
ink: early espresso, pool party
stamps: on your birthday
tools: crimper, xtra lrg decor punch, lrg scallop circle punch
accessories: very vanilla ribbon, rhinestones

$10 grab bag

Here are some more! i counted, and of the ones i still have on hand i have 28! and look! there are still a few stickers left!
supplies:
whisper white card stock and $10 grab bag goodies

Buy 3, Get 1 FREE!!!

During August, you will get a FREE package of Designer Series Paper when they buy three! Make sure to use this limited-time offer to stock up on all your favorites, including brand-new designs from the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.

***DSP PAPER SHARE****

***I was thinking, what if we got four people, each pick our favorite pack of $10.95 dsp, then i'll cut them down to 6X12 and we would each get one sample of every design in all four packages for only $10 each! s/h and tax included.(potential to make a TON of super cool cards!) if you want to buy more than one share, it would be $20 ect. and you would get one FULL sheet of all the designs out of each package, make sense!?***

I'll start it off ....and i will buy a package of Mocha Morning Specialty p.183(I will pay the difference on this one for the first 3 people who respond back to me!) It has flocking and metallic ink on it (great for masculine cards) so it's a bit more than the other packages.

if you want to join in on the fun, just drop me a line back and what package of paper you choose! if i get people choosing the same two pkgs, i'll let you know to pick a different one ok?

I hope to place the order next week Wed(aug 10), so if you have anything else you need, fill out your wish list and place your order @ camp and get camp for $5! This dsp share will go towards the $30 min!

If you want all four full packages for youself.....Click here to order online 24-7 or contact me at any time and i'd love to help you!

Mas thank yous

remember those $5 and $10 grab bags on the clearance rack?? Well you can still get them! Click HERE to shop now!

The above 8 cards were created w/ only a fraction of two adheasive sheets and four 12x12 coordinating dsp from a simply scrappin kit out of my $10 grab bag(along w/ much more). Since the bags are a mystery and you don't know what u are getting, there is no gaurentee of what u will recieve! That's all the fun!

so i kept it super clean, fast and easy by using the adheasive stickers, matching dsp and then my thank you stamps w/ old  olive ink!  Love it! if you like cards to come together quickly, simply scrappin kits are great for this!
