Merry Christmas to you all!

First a little gift to share w/ you of a stack of cards that i put together in a cute little clear box along w/ envelopes to match for one of Hannah's teacher's. For those of you who attend my camps, do you remember making this card?! I found it while cleaning house! hehe I'm not sure how long ago we made it but i know it's been a few yrs! Terrible... I'm embarrassed to admit i still have it in my house! I always preach to you all about making sure you SEND THEM OUT bla bla bla...don't hoard.... bla bla bla *wink*

That time of year is finally here! i love it and i mean everything, the smells, candies, family time, shopping and most of all celebrating that our Lord sent his only Son to be born that special day....How amazing is that alone? Having a baby boy of my own, gives me a small glimpse of what Mary experienced during that time. I want to start some traditions of our own for our little family of 5 and one of those is to make sure my children REALLY know what this season is all about.

The girls where huge helps this year, Hannah could even do the dipping all on her own until she was sick of it and then Daddy took over. Miss Haley was my kiss unwrapper!
i don't usually write much except what you need to know about what i made i guess, but today i have a story to share mainly bc i don't want to forget it myself!

Growing up we were not told that Santa was real and so therefore i never planned to carry that tradition on w/ my children either and wanted it to be all about baby Jesus. However we are surrounded by Santa and my kids 'believed' it and so i guess i kinda got on the band wagon too? Now a few weeks ago Hannah and Haley came to me after inspecting our fire place to find out that it's gas w/ a glass front and NO DOORS THAT OPEN!!! Mom, how is Santa gonna get in? i told my first white lie... "he's magic"

2 weeks goes by and Monday night i began wrapping gifts after the kidos are soundly sleeping prettily placed them under the tree. Tues morn they wake and with glee announce that Santa came last night and put their presents under the tree!!! i just smiled and said, "Check it out!"

2 hrs go by and i had a roll of wrapping paper on my bedroom floor when Hannah(5 yrs) walks in. Staring at the paper looking very perplexed she said...."Mom did you wrap all those presents under the tree?" I had to pause... BUSTED...and then honestly said, "yes Hannah i did." Putting her hands on her little hips and w/ complete disgust, she looked at me and said, "Mom you LIED to me."

more word blocks to share with you!

so this would be a super cute idea if you wanted to hand make a gift for someone. Teacher, friend, family ect. A little putzy getting started, but once you get going, i think you could pound out a bunch of them! The cricut assisted us in all the cutting out of the letters. Thank goodness for that nifty machine! ;)

Take a seat

this is a little peak @ what Ang, Teresa and i made for our children's teachers. i really like how they came together. The fab urban oasis dsp(retired) came in very nicely. perfect for this. my little chair i thought fit the theme of school eh? we bought the pen and paper @ walmart and then just built around it. the pen has a tight rolled of strip of the matching dsp in it so it all coordinates. stay tuned for the other style!

paper; pretty in pink
ink: versamark, crushed concord
stamps: for all you do
tools: stamp a ma jig
accessories: pretty in pink satin ribbon, crushed concord ribbon, dazzling diamonds, clear embossing powder

well today we had a fun scrap get together @ Ang's house and she had the fabulous idea of making these oober cool blocks! do you likes? She and her Mom cut/sanded all the wood for us(thanks a ton!) and then we could paint and decorate accordingly. The last to share of our SAS here. one stamp and this card POPS! I think it's pretty self explanatory. the shimmer you can see in the picture is from the vanilla smooch spritz. How cool is that? I love it! I made the whole card and then one spray over the whole thing!

tip: once again, scratched the edges w/ my finger nail to distress it

paper: bashful blue, early espresso, whisper white, garden green
ink: early espresso
stamps: dasher
tools: big shot, snowflake impression folder, spiral punch
accessories: vanilla smooch spritz, sponges

Sense of time

SAS card #3 was a masculine birthday. Comes out nicely with this stamp set. simple clean lines and quick to put together.
i just used a circle punch to pop out that lower dial and snuck a dimensional under it to give the card a smidge of dimension. and i like to rough up the spiral punch area too...make it look like you ripped it out!

paper: river rock, wild wasabi, whisper white, early espresso, crumb cake
ink: crumb cake, wild wasabi
stamps: one your birthday, sense of time
tools: circle punch, modern label punch, spiral punch, big shot, square lattice impression folder
accessories: brad, stampin dimensionals

Contemporary Christmas

Card #2 of our Stamp a Stack! Those wheels make a matching card/envelope ensemble in a snap! This new set is just too much fun! so i cut one piece and left the end dangle outside of my impression folder when i embossed the top part. that way we could roll the wheel along w/o any bumps!
paper: real red, very vanilla
ink: real red, basic black
stamps: Contemporary Christmas,
tools: big shot, impression folder, ornament punch, standard wheel handle
accessories: dazzling diamonds, stampin dimensionals

Tree Trimmings

This is the first of the cards to share with you that we just made @ camp this week! It was my Christmas Party/Stamp a Stack to celebrate the Christmas Season, but also to thanks each attendee for the past yrs. business! I so appreciate each one of you!
Hard to capture the simple elegance of this one in a picture but it really was all sparkly and gorgeous! Stamp a ma jig is a must with this stamp set so you can get that string all lined up nicely above your ornament! supper frustrating when it's dangling in mid air and your ornament is 'floating'....
Got some shabby chic going on w/ the soft suede piece. If you don't own the distressing tool...scratch your finger nail along the edges and 'rough' it up a bit and then i just rolled one corner over. I lick my finger tip to get it started and then rub back and forth till it's rolled like you like it! sounds kinda gross... but really it works for me and i have $17 to spend on something else Stampin Up instead of the distressing tool! ;P

paper: soft suede, river rock, very vanilla
ink: soft suede
stamps: tree trimmings
tools: big shot, snowflake impression folder, xtra large decorative label punch
accessories: sponge, stampin dimensionals, dazzling diamonds
