our lil' stinker

eeeek!? isn't this the cutest...well if i do say so myself;) Here again, i used the alpha stamp set that comes w/ the program, turned it into punches and filled it w/ the dsp! all from the rock.a.bye family. if you have mds you have access to everything on this page except the fancy stitching and the vintage frames around the pix. They are additional downloads from Downtown Grunge and xtra stitching that i bought. (MDS must haves in my humble opinion!!) ;)

New iN CoLOrS!!!

this is always an exciting time of year... the anticipation of what those new colors will look like, will i like them, what color family will they fit into ect?! Well here they are! and of course i LOVE them! I would call last years 'in colors' brights and these more pastelish?

Inspired by Nature needed to be dusted off here and break out the NEw COlors for you all! Are you ready for the fun new names? We'll start on the bottom of the card above. it starts out with Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, island indigo, pool party, wisteria wonder. If you would like to check out a nice color comparison chart to colors we have now and retired ones from the past... click here and Dawn did a really nice job of showing that off! thanks Dawn!

i also used my dotto glue and the chunky glitter. that jazzed up this simple card in a quick hurry! I used the new stampin write markers to color this stamp the different colors. not your typical cone flower, but it works for me! ;)

Book Mark

My neighbor called and asked if i had a good card on hand to give a friend who is in her book club. oh boy i thought...nope, not on hand, but what can we come up w/!? Great challenge for me! Here is the finished product!
Since i didn't have any stamps that were 'book' related... i just printing this on crumb cake cardstock and used my punches...nifty! eh?

putting it in the pretty clear envelope makes it look super polished! Have a great day!

supplies:
paper: ridinghood red, very vanilla, crumb cake, basic black, love letter dsp(soon retiring)
ink: none!
stamps: thoughts & prayers (on the inside)
tools: owl punch, tag punches

Best Dad Ever

What a beautiful day it was for Father's Day! We had such a nice time together w/ family and friends. These are the two cards i made for my DH and FIL. I got my inspiration from here...well i guess i pretty much CASED her! Thanks Carrie!

i loved how she used the scallop envelope die on her big shot!

That wood grain background stamp sure is a nice one for masculine cards. adds just the right touch!
supplies:
paper: love letter dsp, crumb cake, basic black, old olive, very vanilla
ink: basic black, old olive
stamps: trendy trees, whimsical words, best dad ever, wood grain
tools: big shot, scallop envelope die, circle punch, crop a dile, matte pack
accessories: black jumbo eyelets, stampin dimensionals, old olive ribbon, silver brads

the Yankton dam is open almost ALL the way. someone said there is only 12 more inches to go before the gates are wide open. it's amazing. i never seen anything like it. quite scary actually. I had nightmares last night about my silly girls falling in! it was terrible. they wanted to be RIGHT on that edge and get drenched and sprayed w/ the HUGE waves.
after a nice relaxing boat ride (we had to go slow and putt along as the river is floating w/ quite a bit of debris), we enjoyed some ice cream!

all boy.....all he wanted to do was 'steer' the boat....

Baby girl finished

This was the card i made to write in myself and laid on top of the stack of thank you cards for them! This little baby bear is too sweet. I used the water color paper and my aqua painters to quickly color her in. messy is good. white spots are good. looks authentic.

This new bakers twine, is way fun. adds just a smidge more than the regulare linen thread i suppose w/ the color in it. I like it.
below you can see it all put together in the nifty clear box(love those guys). What new Mom doesn't need some chocolate right? Well i suppose none of us NEED it but i know i always wanted it;) oh well, takes 10 mos to put the weight on...10 to get it off....hehe.

a little birdie told me that Dad stole these though and ate them himself....he needs a serious talking to...
supplies:
paper: pink pirouette, water color paper, crumb cake
ink: stazon (for water coloring) soft suede, melon mambo
stamps: bear hugs
tools: aqua painter, matte pack
accessories: bakers twine, stampin dimensionals

I wanted to share a little something with you as well! Some of you may know that my younger sister lost a baby a little over a year ago and that she is now expecting again. They are so excited and we are as well! Well this past week she hit the 20 week mark, were able to have an ultrasound and all looks well. We are so thankful for that! They found out the sex...but it's a big ol' secret! ;( So when she called me to tell that all looks well, i wanted to quickly stamp her a card to let her know that we share in their joy!

If you look closely you can see that i reverse embossed here! cool look huh? I used my brayer w/ versamark and rolled it inside my impression folder, then ran it through the big shot, sprinkled on the NEW wild wasabi embossing powder(in the summer mini now) and then used the heat gun to set it! I did it on dsp as u can see for some added dimension!

Using sticky strip is a GREAT way to adhere the ruffled ribbon look if you just want it to 'lay' on top of your project.
The flower is made by punching out 3 scallop circles, i spray them w/ alcohol, scrunch them up and then glue em' together!
