Define your Life

This past This past weekend we had a wonderful weekend away up to the cities w/ most of our large bible study group! We stayed @ a waterpark holiday inn and it was so much fun. We all took our children along and they had a blast! It was so good for our family to get away from our 'crazy' and  busy life here and try to unwind...although when u take your children w/ you i'm not sure u really get to unwind...especially when your baby doen't sleep well out of his own crib...grrr... never the less....still good to be gone.

now home again and this week we jump right back into crazy! ;) we are hoping to move this week Friday evening into our new house. really looking forward to it all, except diving into my scary stamp room downstairs. to move all that????? eeek!!! and that's just it... I HAVE to move it all for fear of anyone seeing it ...*wink*. oh well it will get done...it always does right?

on to some eye candy.... Jesse's sister opened her home to us this weekend for one of the nights, so i wanted to leave her a little surprise in the bedroom after we were gone. It was also her birthday this past week.

i've had this stamp set for quite some time but it's not one that i grab for super quick! i guess that's bc in the past i didn't really know what to do with it? I really like a lot of the words that are used though and am going to try to use it more and more!

i made this wine bottle topper in a snap. i punched a 1 1/4" hole in top to slip over the neck. Scored a nice crease and then embellished just the bottom portion. hard to see but i did use the crimper again on the topper too. the polka dot piece i ran through to make it pop!

a slice of life

i love that stamp! i have never had anything like it so that's fun for something different. i suppose not everyone drinks coffee but i thouht it fun for a girlfriend. pear pizzaz tone on tone w/ the dsp and then a little textured melon mambo right on top. i first embossed the cup images in black and clear embossing powder and then I used my aqua painter to give the cups some shadows and dimension. Those things are another fav of mine. basically i think the sloppier the better. that's not usually my motto but here it works in my opinion! i colored w/ blushing bride and melon mambo and then popped that image up on dimensionals. top it all off w/ a tiny little pearl!

have a seat

It's my Dad's birthday this Sunday so this card has to go in the mail today! Clean and simple i would call this. i used my circle scissor plus to do it and Dotto tape on the back so my paper doesn't move while i'm cutting on the glass mat. i think it's a must bc when u r done, it comes off the glass mat nicely too. using snail or a more sticky adhesive usually tears your paper! ;( after cutting my first circle @ 2 1/4" then i just turn the dial a smidge to 2 3/8". i stamped a to z in crumb cake after stamping it off once ( i think i would do it one more time so it's a bit softer). then the chair and sentiment in basic black right over top. the love letter dsp adds some polish to the card.

supplies:
paper: marina mist, very vanilla, basic black, love letter dsp
ink: crumb cake, basic black
stamps: have a seat, teeny tiny wishes, a to z
tools: circle scissor plus, scallop border punch, crop a dile
accessories: silver eyelets, basic black 1/8" taffeta ribbon

funky four

here's a simple image dressed up just a little. i left a sentiment off so this could be for my "just because" category in my stash. i used some old kiwi kiss textured paper for the mat and also one mushroom head popped up on a dimensional. can u see the sparkle over the card. i gave one spray of the vanilla shimmer smooch spritz.

supplies:
paper: early espresso, whisper white, kiwi kiss textured
ink: pacific point, early espresso
stamps: funky four, a to z
accessories: blue glitter brad, vanilla shimmer smooch, pacific point ribbon

a slice of life

this adorable little sleeper is from the level one hostess set in the Occasions Mini. a couple in our church were blessed w/ a little baby girl this past week so i get to play w/ the girls things again. i stamped the sleeper 2X and on the second i heat embossed w/ clear powder and black ink, then cut out and popped up on a few dimensionals. embossing keeps the colors from bleeding together when u use your aqua painter and it looks pretty cool too. nice n shiny & bumpy to the touch.
supplies:
paper: pear pizzaz, melon mambo, blushing bride, whisper white
ink: melon mambo, versamark, basic black, pear pizzaz
stamps:  little angel(retired), slice of life
tools: scallop oval punch, oval punch, scallop border punch
accessories: clear embossing powder, heat gun, aqua painter, blushing bride ribbon

yesterday

Hannah and I worked diligently on her Valentine boxes. She had to sign her name 20 times on the back and wasn't real thrilled about doing so. I tried breaking it up for her a bit and she did get 17 done. then she was FINISHED. so i did the last 3 for her. she really didn't get the whole concept of giving candy and then getting some in return. she kept saying it was dumb.... this candy is all for 'them' ... i don't get any of it....ect. Needless to say when she got home from school on Monday...her response was, "Mom, today was AWESOME, all i did was play, play, play...no work... and look at all my TREATS!!!" These little love bot boxes were on SU!'s clearance a while back.

i made a Mexican meal for Jesse for dinner. and you can see the roses i got from the kidos! While Hannah was in school, Haley and i made a big heart monster cookie for Daddy.

While waiting for it to bake Haley and i kept digging in the bowl and eating the dough bc i have this friend who eats dough all the time*smile* and doesn't get sick(and let's her children too), so i thought i would try it. well either i ate more than she does, or my gut can't handle it bc i felt like you know what....ugh! no more cookie dough for this cat!
i think Chase wants a bite.....

Bliss & love impressions rub on's

 Happy Valentines Day!!!

This card went together quickly w/ a few punches and some of that pretty lace ribbon. it's a scrap piece i just couldn't throw away *wink*. the tone on tone stamping is done w/ versamark. a bit more subtle than if you would use the actual crumb cake. over top of it all i used the color spritzer tool and the choc chip marker for a few sprays.

supplies:
paper: crumb cake, real red, whisper white
ink: versamark, real red, choc chip marker
stamps: bliss (FREE SAB set)
tools: large oval punt, boho blossoms punch
accessories: glitter red brad, lace ribbon, love impression rub ons

I had too many to share b4 Valentines Day so you get two eye candies today;P. I think the one below is my favorite?  i love the tag look and the layers too. Here you can see the butterfly in the background and i did actually use the crumb cake ink so it would be a smidge darker. the flowers on the right side on the red were done w/ the versamark.
a line of sticky strip across the bottom of my tag and i have some quick ruffles. the oxox are rub ons from the same pack i've been using.

supplies:
paper: real red, crumb cake, whisper white, crumb cake dsp
ink: crumb cake, versamark
stamps: BLISS
tools: tag corner punch, color spritzer tool
accessories: hemp twine, pearl, red glitter brad, white lace ribbon, love impression rub on's

Love impressions rub on's

This adorable little rub on can be found in the new Occasions mini right along w/ the clouds. I really like this card...well most of it. i didn't feel like doing another "error" free so I'll confess that even when u have butt loads(my lil confession) of toys to play w/ i STILL mess up. See that stitching along the bottom...well i was gonna stitch all the way around the center rectangle. then my white gel pen ran out of ink. ok i thought...I'll pierce it the faux way... yah totally didn't like that either. but now it's done and i just left it.  woulda been way cuter w/o it.... however i always tell u all...the receiver of this card will never know the dif right?
If you have not invested in any glitter yet and are still on the fence. i think this chunky stuff is the WAY to go! It's WAY less messy that the fine glitter and packs a ton of punch. i just run a bead of dotto glue along the seam above and then sprinkle on the chunks... and you got ton's of sparkle!

supplies:
paper: crumb cake, whisper white, real red
ink: crumb cake
stamps: paisley background (retired)
tools: horizontal slot punch
accessories: love u rub ons, real red button, chunky glitter, real red satin ribbon, dotto glue(for glitter), mini glue dot(for button)
